I walked somewhere between 700 and 980 miles in less than two months in East Africa this summer, braving man eating ants, man eating lions, armed bandits, malaria, giardia (you so don't get a picture of that one), blisters inside blisters, equipment failures, puff adders, cobras, chameleons, really big and friendly bugs, the bus and lots and lots of small children to hand out mosquito nets. Oh, wait. Ummm. Hmm. I can bathe this very pointy kitten without losing an arm!

I fixed a pair of prescription glasses that were smashed and slept on with just my bare hands. When I was done, they were as good as new.. and they weren’t Flexon.. they were old fashioned plastic frame ones.

I watched the movie ‘expelled’ without walking out! (Of course, I stayed until the end to boo and loudly make fun of everybody that thought it was anything less then a travesty).

1. i have thus far today, on several occasions, managed not to even so much as complain about my lazy co-workers who somehow manage to do nothing even though this isn’t technically a day off and i’m taking all the heat for their not doing anything.

~~2. both of my first-born children are male. o wait, that’s probably not a good thing….~~

2. last Saturday, i managed not to bitch-slap, kick in the nuts, or even so much as scowl at the not-even-a-santa-anymore homeless(?) bell-ringer who was drinking a Starbucks in front of the mall entrance….after having been splashed with slush by the hurried woman wearing fur in the large suburban with a jeebus sticker on the back.

I once drove the 1 1/2 hour drive from Austin to Houston, getting pulled over 3 times and only getting 3 warnings.

I also once drove from Dallas to Indianapolis in 10 hours. It’s almost exactly 1000 miles, you do the math of average speed. I only stopped for gas and only sipped on water so I wouldn’t have to use nasty gas station bathrooms.

Now I have kids, I drive differently nowadays.
